marathon blog post #3 - Orlando.

Whew. Are you getting sick of us yet?

A few weeks ago Devin and I got the rare opportunity to go on a little vacay...by ourselves.  He had a work conference in Orlando so I tagged along, sat by the pool in the glorious Florida weather (and hence got burned in about 2 minutes) and went theme-parking with my childhood BFFE. I might have done a little damage at the outlets as well.  It was too short of a trip to take Scarlett which really bummed me out since our hotel was literally 2 minutes from Disney World!  No worries though, this child's first trip to Disney is in the not so distant future!

One of the best dinners I have ever had, hands down.  Emeril's restaraunt at Universal City Walk does not disappoint my friends.  It was packed so we sat at the bar...Truffle flatbread pizza for me, some amazing scallop dish for Dev, and crawfish mac and cheese to share.  Healthy right? ha.  We also ate at  Cat Cora's restaurant in Downtown Disney, but honestly it didn't even compare to the food at Emeril's.

We were sending all kinds of pics to Scarlett from Downtown Disney while we were there.  3 days with out my baby is too long! I had no idea this area of the park was absolutely free (you don't even have to pay for parking) and you can take the Disney bus to the Boardwalk which is where we ate at Cat's restaurant.

What a creep.  hahahaha

Ohhh my.  This would be Annia and I circa 1994 I believe.  We lived down the street from each other in the Valley and we both moved in the middle of 5th grade.  Me to Houston, her to Palm Beach.  We kept in touch through middle school and then found each other on facebook again in college.

16 years later?!  Yes we sure are holding Harry Potter wands.  We spent a whole day at Universal, caught up, drank butter beer in Harry Potter World and went on all the non-scary rides :)  It was so fun and I'm so glad it worked out!

Poor Devin, his schedule was pretty unpredictable so really his vacation wasn't much of a vacation at all.  I was really bummed he didn't get to go to Harry Potter World with us because I have officially turned him into a huge Harry geek. (disclaimer so he doesn't kill me: he has not/will not read the books. just the movies. lame.)  He did get to meet up with us at City Walk afterwards and we ate at a really good latin restaurant.  Next year the conference is in VEGAS!

Look who was on the plane ride home with us!  Haley and her sweet fam were in Orlando the same time we were, taking Owen on his very first Disney trip.  Look at that sweet precious baby boy!!

Almost done.  One more post and I think we should be all caught up!
